Our queen bees are bred from strong local stock—not imported from large-scale commercial pollination operations. While they are not purebreds, they carry a mix of Carniolan, Buckfast, Saskatraz, and Italian genetics, resulting in hardy, adaptable queens often referred to as “mutts.” These queens are well-suited for the Northeastern U.S. climate and have consistently demonstrated excellent performance and hygienic (VSH) behavior. We've had great success with them here on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
We begin offering queens in June, after we've completed our spring nuc production. Availability is limited, as we only release queens once they are confirmed as strong, proven layers.
Please note: We reserve the right to deny a queen bee sale if we believe the introduction will not support the colony’s success, or if the buyer is unfamiliar with the proper method for introducing a queen into a queenless colony.
